If it does not release or is to short, you will need to replace the valve. Then cut the water line on the unit so that it has a smooth edge. Insert it into the water valve until it lock into place on the unit.

In the refrigerator, there are two lines coming down from the water filter housing: a tan/orange looking one, and a clear one. The clear one is currently leaking from a hole in the line about an inch below the connection to the filter assembly. I don't know whether this is an inlet line or if it's going from the filter to the door (or elsewhere) but if I press the water dispenser, I get a high pressure blast of water out of the hole in the line just below the filter. Does 218976409 sound like the appropriate replacement tubing?

You'll need to start at the fill valve 242252702 and water supply tube from the faucet. If the tube(s) were the problem, the water would leak when the ice maker or water dispenser were used or activated. Since the leak stopped when the water supply was shut off, this indicates an issue in the supply "side" of the system(water valve or loose/cracked connection in the water supply line).

Looking for water line which runs under refrigerator, connecting supply valve on back of refrigerator to 5/16" connector on bottom of freezer door. Water line dry rotted and broke apart. My best guess is this is a 5/16" OD line. Approximte length is 5'-6'.
