The Prisma HealthCenter for Pediatric Medicine and its affiliate sites provide a pediatric primary care medical home for children of all ages. Our offices offer routine well-child visits, as well as sick and follow-up visits by scheduled appointment.

Our professional team includes board-certified pediatricians, nurse practitioners, pediatric nurses, social workers, case managers and interpreters.

About Prisma Health Center for Pediatric Medicine

As a graduate medical education teaching site, pediatric resident physicians, medical students, nursing students, and other types of professional learners may be involved in the care that is provided to your family.

Our team of supervising teaching physicians and experienced nurses oversee every aspect of your child’s care. We thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve your family while also ensuring continued high-quality care for future pediatric patients in our office and across the Upstate.

Electronic language interpreter access is available if needed.

No Hit Zones promote healthy relationships and safe environments through awareness, education and skill-building. This means:

  • No adult shall hit another adult.
  • No adult shall hit a child.
  • No child shall hit an adult.
  • No child shall hit another child.

We are proud to partner with Reach Out and Read by making age-appropriate books available to patients at their well-child visits, from birth to age 5. We encourage families to take the books home and read aloud together.

Our goal is to stimulate early language and brain development and give young children a foundation for success.

The Prisma Health Center for Pediatric Medicinewas one of only three sites in the Southeast to receive the 2021 IBCLC Care Award from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and the International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®).

The award recognizes hospitals, birthing facilities, birthing services and community-based health agencies with international board-certified lactation consultants (IBCLCs) and a dedicated lactation support program.

This two-year award recognizes the Center for Pediatric Medicine for its quality improvement efforts to promote exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of life in a culturally competent manner and to support lactating moms as they return to work. The center has two sites in Greenville and one in Travelers Rest.

The Rica Salud Club (“Rich Health Club”) offers a transformative experience for children and teens dealing with obesity. This inclusive program spans seven visits, including four sessions with a registered dietitian and three with a physician.

The Prisma Health Center for Pediatric Medicine and all of our affiliate sites participate in the QTIP program. According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, “the Quality through Technology and Innovation in Pediatrics (QTIP) program works to improve health care for children in South Carolina by working on quality measures and incorporating mental health into a medical home. Started in 2010 under a CHIPRA federal grant, this program brings practices together to collaborate on specific measures and foster quality improvement projects at each practice site.”

Goals of the QTIP program include:
  • Improve children’s quality care measures.
  • Improve child care through peer-to-peer measures amongst other pediatricians.
  • Focus on the mental well-being of children.
  • Integrate the patient-centered medical home model of care (PCMH).

This standardfrom the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)assesses whether clinicians and practices support the delivery of high-quality care and are built on evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical standards of care.
