Injury issues continue to persist in a big way for Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag confirmed on Thursday that Bruno Fernandes is their latest worry before the trip to Crystal Palace.
Scott McTominay is yet to return to training having also picked up an issue in last weekend’s draw against Burnley.
However, there is better news concerning Jonny Evans while Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw are all pushing to return sooner rather than later. The latest update on Marcus Rashford’s status is less promising, though.
Here is your latest update of Man Utd injury news and return dates...
Bruno Fernandes
Ten Hag revealed before the Palace game that Fernandes is a doubt due to a knock discovered after the Burnley draw.
However, he insisted that the club captain will fight hard to play and implied that any absence will be short-term.
“After the [Burnley] game, we had an issue with Bruno,” said the United boss.
“He is a doubt for Monday. We all know Bruno, never rule him out for any game, he will do his best to be available.”
Potential return date: Monday May 6, vs Crystal Palace
United are closing in on much-needed defensive reinforcements with Evans looking likely to be the first player back ahead of Monday’s game.
The veteran centre-back rejoined full training this week after almost a month away.

United lost McTominay to a knee injury during the Burnley game and he is yet to return to training.

Luke Shaw
Shaw last played against Luton on February 18 and was substituted at half-time.
Now back in training, he is another nearing his return for United although no exact timeframe has been given.

Raphael Varane
Varane was substituted at half-time after suffering a muscle injury during United’s 4-3 loss to Chelsea on April 4. The French defender has been absent since, and was not fit enough to make the matchday squad against Burnley.
It’s unclear when he’ll return, with the last fortnight of the season his best hope.

Victor Lindelof
Lindelof was withdrawn after 69 minutes against Brentford on March 30 with a hamstring injury. He was ruled out for a month and has yet to make a matchday squad since.

Tyrell Malacia
Malacia underwent surgery during pre-season and looked set to return last autumn. However, the first surgery hadn’t fully removed the cartilage fragments in his knee, and he chose to undergo corrective surgery in November.
Malacia’s rehabilitation has not gone to plan since then, and Ten Hag confirmed in March that it’s unlikely he’ll return this season.
Compared to 2022-23, the total days lost to injuries was up 19%. The list does not include the likes of Aston Villa's Emi Buendia, Manchester United's Tyrell Malacia or Chelsea's Wesley Fofana because they were injured before the start of the campaign.
Luke Shaw continues to be out of action, with Erik ten Hag stating that he expects the defender to be back before the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are both unavailable for at least a month due to muscle injuries.
But Ronaldo's second stint at Old Trafford ended after a few months of the following campaign. On 22 November 2022, the club announced he was "to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement".
