How do I get free DRF past performances? ›

The first number is the horse's post position. Then, there are several numbers indicating where a horse was positioned at various points in his previous race, usually in quarter-mile increments depending on the race distance. Finally, the last number in the running line tells you how he finished.

Look to the far left column for identifying information.

The third row indicates the color of the “silks” the horse will wear during the race. The final line is the name of the horse's jockey. Underneath the horse's race number are the morning line odds, the standing odds prior to the race.

On the Beyer scale, the top stakes horses in the United States and Canada typically earn numbers in the 100s, while extremely strong performances can rate in the 120s.
