Chai-Yo describes itself as, ‘Dublin’s most entertaining dining experience’, and it’s here that you’ll experience live Teppanyaki cooking in all its glory.
After ordering, you’ll watch on as skillful chiefs slice, dice and work their magic at the grill right in front of you.
On the Teppanyaki menu, you’ll find everything from the Chai Yo Special (Fillet Steak, Chicken Teriyaki and Fresh Salmon) to the Tasting Menu (King Prawns, Chicken Teriyaki, Fillet Steak, Seabass & Duck) and more.
If you, like me, tend to base where you eat off the back of online reviews, according to Tripadvisor, this is the best Chinese in Dublin (#1 at the time of writing).
2. BIGFAN (Aungier St)

BIGFAN is one of the newer Chines restaurants Dublin has to offer. It launched in 2020 and, in under a year, has racked up rave reviews online.
BIGFAN specialises in handmade dumplings and fresh bao. If you’re not familiar with ‘bao’, it’sa plain steamed dumpling that get’s filled with the good stuff.
The two winners on the menu here, for me, are the ‘Legend Of The Ox’ (Juicy Beef Shin Ball, Kataifi Pastry, Sweet Soy Mushroom Blend) and the bao with Crunchy Chicken Thigh Marinated Big Fan Style, Kimchi, Hot Sichuan Mayo.
This is quickly becoming one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Dublin for good reason. Get yourself here and make those tastebuds happy!
3. Hang Dai (Camden St.)

The very unique Hang Dai is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Dublin for a night out with friends – the foodsdelishand there’s a nightclub vibe, with neon lighting and live music.
They specialise in the apple wood-fired duck, but also serve other delectable dishes like steamed eggplant and asparagus spring rolls. Crispy duck dumplings can be found on their snack menu and there is a carefully crafted co*cktail menu to enjoy.
An elegant spot located in the centre of Dublin on Camden Street, Hang Dai boasts a cheerful ambiance and is an ideal place to visit for a special occasion.

This Hong Kong-style roasted meat deli is an-award-winning eatery that offers authentic flavours of Hong Kong style roasted meats.
The interior, with vintage posters and suspended birdcages, looks spectacular and the menu at Duck is sublime.
What makes this BBQ stand out from other places in Dublin is a traditional Bullet Oven, under the watchful eye of Master Chefs Kwan and Yip, is used to perfectly cook the meat.

The menu here boasts soup noodles, Chow Mein, noodle mix and plenty of other Chinese stir fry options, as well as an array of gluten-free dishes and options for vegetarians.
When ordering, just keep in mind that the portion sizes in Lee’s Charming Noodles are generous.

3. M&L Szechuan Chinese (Cathedral St)

I’ve heard a lot of people say that this is the best Chinese in Dublin if you’re in search of an authentic feed (it’s also said to be one of the best value spots!).
If you wish to skip fusion foods and fancy restaurants with shiny tablecloths, pay a visit to Xian Street Food where delicate aromas and a reasonably priced menu await.
From pan-friend dumplings and Xi’an meat burger to gong bao chicken with spicy peanut sauce and the popular biang biang noodles, every bite of their food is mouthwatering.
5. Yang’s (Clontarf)

The interior is nice and cosy and, in my experience, the staff are always welcoming, friendly and not over-attentive.
